Physical Characteristics and Genetics

Size:
Large with long, well muscled legs.

Eye Color:
A light, almost blue-grey. Appears to be more grey than blue though. His eyes can darken to reflect his mood. The colour of his eyes are the result of the fact that somewhere in his lineage, a wolf-dog is present.

Fur Color:
His fur is a mix of white, black, and various hues of grey. His ears, from the base of his skull to the very tip, are a deep maroon that appear almost brown in colouration.

Scars:
All scars are hidden beneath his thick, glossy pelt.

Build:
He is rather large in stature and his long legs play a huge part in his height. For his body though, he is quite burly.

Strengths:
His speed and strength are outstanding. Altair is able to choose words that can help quell arguements that are about to arise. He is very fair and friendly; it is easy for him to make friends.

Weaknesses:
Not a good hunter at all. While he can run fast, his stamina wanes quickly. Can be extremely "pack bound" and therefore it can be difficult to get him to do something he doesn't want to.

Quelling arguments with a few choice words
Holding an intimidating appearance when it is needed

Personality:
Altair is a very friendly wolf and is easy to get along with. He can befriend others easily as long due to his happy-go-lucky personality. Though, some wolves do not like that in him and therefore, barely acknowledge him because they think he is too happy all the time. It is rare to find him in a bad mood because there really isn't anything that can upset him. Causing harm to the pack is one of the only things that can transform the kind Altair into the vicious one.

When he has to be serious, he can be. However, this is not done without great difficulty. He is not fond of taking everything as a joke nor is is fond of being serious all the time; he is semi-balanced between both. The only time that he will lose all traces of his smiley self is when there is something dire going on. That is when he becomes calm and thoughtful.

His eyes tend to show all of the emotions that he tries to hide. His expressions may be carefully guarded by a mask of happiness, but his blue-grey eyes betray everything. He feels that hiding his true emotions from everyone can help the pack since no one has to help him with anything. But with him holding everything in, sometimes he harms himself.

When he gets angry, he does not raise his voice. Altair believes that yelling only makes the problem a bigger one and that it never gets the message through. So, rather than yell and scream, he lowers his voice. Often, his ears quiver from the barely surpressed anger as well. That often makes the message very clear to everyone.

Deeply cares for all wolves. Whether they be old friends or ones he just met. There is an urge that takes place in him and compells him to protect others at all costs. Even his enemies have his protection because he can't stand the thought of anyone being lost if he could have stopped it. Given the oppertunity, Altair would sacrifice himself in order to preserve the life of others.
